Collaborations have been around forever. Real will always recognize real, and people want to work with their friends, or at least folks with a similar outlook and mindset.
Neith Nyer was celebrating its first Paris Fashion Week schedule when it was announced that the brand partnered with Helen Rödel to develop two all-handmade crochet dresses in her signature style for the NN opening show.
Needless to say, Helen Rödel's artistic functionality paired with Neith Nyers’ unique atmosphere made eye-catching, extremely comfortable and pleasure-seeking garments.
This elegant development proved that a fashion collaboration doesn’t need to be splashy or sequined to be successful. It has to be true.

Vogue Italia: "Unmissable Brand"!
Among more than 18,000 designers, 100 were chosen by NOTJUSTALABEL to participate in the Origin, Passion & Beliefs fair held in the Veneto region.
Within this select group, Sara Maino, senior editor at Italian Vogue and scion of one of the most powerful families in Italian fashion chose 22 unmissable.
Well, here we are with the three looks selected and photographed by Sara herself. Her aunt (and boss) is Franca Sozzani, the longtime editor in chief at Italian Vogue, and her mother is Carla Sozzani, founder of the Milan super-boutique 10 Corso Como.
For ambitious designers with fashion dreams, Ms. Maino, 42, has become a high-profile guiding light. As the head of talent at Italian Vogue, she oversees its search for new faces, its competitions and initiatives, and is one of the most well-known, respected and nomadic talent spotters in the business.
“What makes Sara such a force is that she is genuinely looking for designers who can revolutionize the market”, Franca Sozzani said.

Inspiradas na cultura afro-brasileira e no universo dos Orixás e do Candomblé, peças produzidas inteiramente a mão em crochet foram desenvolvidas especialmente para Têca por Helô Rocha que comemorou 10 anos de vida.
A collaboration between Helen Rödel and Têca por Helo Rocha resulted in powerful looks that were shown in SS16 São Paulo Fashion Week runway.
Inspired by the afro-brazilian culture and universe of Orixás and Candomblé, all handmade crochet pieces have been specifically designed for Têca por Helô Rocha which celebratated 10 years of existence.
The sought-after Brazilian artist and shoemaker Lane Marinho does not accept most invitations to collaborate she gets to take part in.
That's one of the reasons why we are happy and pleased to have her on our SS2015 photo-shooting team for the art direction.
The stunning resulting work can be seen on both Helen Rödel's SS2015 lookbook and campaign.
In addition to the meticulously tamed tropical feel Lane Marinho's all-handmade sandals completed the collaboration in a pretty chic way.
Lane Marinho's sandals have been associated with the arts since it's conception: from the iconic imagery of Marinho's early campaigns, which have been done with her brother, to the exquisitely crafted sandals itself, which pays homage to the luxurious craftsmanship tradition.

The Beauty of Florence is the Backdrop to the Fashion Destination’s First Shoppable Short
A cultural excursion takes a feverish turn in The Stendhal Syndrome, a motion-touch, shoppable fashion film by director Clara Cullen for LUISAVIAROMA.COM. Inspired by the sublime beauty of the Florence’s artworks, dancer Chiara Afilani erupts in movement through a series of historic locations, from Studio Galleria Romanelli, one of the oldest sculpture studios in Europe, to the fresco-lined duomo of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore. The innovative short is inspired by the phenomenon of ‘Stendhal Syndrome,’ a psychosomatic disorder first identified by the eponymous 19th-century French author, who posited that an experience of great beauty could cause bouts of disorientation and hallucination. “When I first heard of the Stendhal Syndrome, I found myself comparing this feeling to the fashion weeks where I see so many shows and so much talent in such a condensed period of time,” says stylist and creative director Carmel Imelda Walsh. “The handcrafts, designs and concepts are all so unique to the world of each designer.” The whirling short is soundtracked by an original score from Alabama-born composer and visual artist Sahra Motalebi, whose shamanistic vocal compositions have seen performances at MoMA/PS1 and New Museum of Contemporary Art. The pioneering platform was an early adopter of online shopping possibilities when it launched its website in 1999, and here showcases its first interactive fashion film. Featuring garments from burgeoning London talent J.W. Anderson and fashion aristocrat Delfina Delettrez to long-standing staples Maison Martin Margiela, Jil Sander and Alexander McQueen, the retailer prides itself on making the work of both established and emerging designers available worldwide. “Art and fashion have always been closely linked,” says Walsh. “Even in earlier times, textile merchants commissioned paintings in churches to advertize their fabrics.”

With every cigarette I had I took the opportunity to talk with many of the designers who were invited to the event. These many and very informal talks were the highlights of it all for me. It was really nice to connect with so many people challenging themselves as they transform fashion reality.
As noted by the prestigious Business of Fashion:
For many of the young designers present, it was the opportunity to connect with each other that was the most powerful part of the experience. “We met a lot of manufacturers and I’m sure some production partnerships will come out of it, but for me it was so amazing to share stories and ideas with so many people, all of whom were at similar stages [with their brands],” said Henson. “One thing that we noticed was that all the designers were so open with each other. Usually at other fairs, people are reluctant to share trade secrets, problems, good stores, showrooms, etcetera. But at Origin, there really was none of that. I think someone coined the phrase ‘fashion designer summer camp’ and that’s what it really felt like”.
Someone was right, that definitely was the incredibly good feeling of Origin Passion & Beliefs.

ORIGIN PASSION & BELIEFS will bring together 100 of the most ground-breaking independent designers, to meet and engage with 100 of Italy’s most distinguished manufacturers and suppliers, an exclusive selection of international press, and key figures within the fashion industry.
With over 15,000 emerging design talents at hand, we are proud to present 100 of our most pioneering talents, hand selected to take part in the event. These designers will travel from all over the world to meet at the event, from as far away as Japan and New Zealand. They represent 38 countries, coming from fashion hubs including Milan and New York, and emerging fashion destinations such as Beijing, São Paulo and Tokyo.
From Central Saint Martins to Parsons, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp to the Fashion Institute of Technology, and institutions as diverse as the Kyiv National University Of Technologies And Design and the Institute Of Fashion Design Basel, these 100 designers are from the 62 best fashion schools and institutions in the world.
They represent a vast range of pioneering approaches to contemporary fashion, and include previous winners of the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival, The Mango Fashion Award, LVMH Prize finalists, and winners of the Designer For Tomorrow prize and the Danish Fashion Award.
Unlike other show concepts, NJAL ensured designers will see the entirety of costs related to travel, showcasing and hospitality covered – in virtue of NJAL’s core mission to support design talents without borders, financial burden or politics.
ORIGIN will open from 9.30am-6.30pm, and on the last day, the trade event will be transformed into Europe’s largest temporary store: an unparalleled opportunity for the public to purchase the designs of the independent talents on show.
The event will run parallel to the Vicenza Oro, one of the world’s most prominent jewellery shows, and the perfect accompaniment to this meeting of pioneering fashion minds.
The setting, Veneto, is the heart of Italian manufacturing and production facilities, and the thousands of family-run manufacturers, artisans and fashion entrepreneurs based here boast over 700 years of experience.
